Lauren Thies was raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. She graduated from the University of Regina in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then attended the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy in December 2021.

Lauren has played a variety of sports including sprint kayaking and curling. She also enjoys spending time mountain biking and wake surfing. Lauren has been passionate about giving back to the curling community and has coached curling for 11 years, including coaching a junior women's team at provincials and as a CurlSask instructor.

Lauren has completed her level 1 Orthopedic Division AIM and First Responder First Aide.
